18th Century Mahogany Extending Dining Table W156

The most flexible 18th century table! This dining table can seat 10, but any or all of the 3 central leaves can be removed the 2 D-ends can be attached to form a round table, or can be used as individual D-end side tables. Brass clips unite the sections.
Made of fabulous quality Georgian mahogany, the top is finished with a simple reeded edge, which is echoed in the inlaid line decoration on the D-ends. The gently tapered legs have carved ends and small original brass castors.
Despite being able to seat 10 people, this table is of smaller proportions than the average D-end dining table, so would suit the modern home very well. It is in wonderful original order the central leaf and legs have obviously been stored for a long time, have not had sunshine and wear, so are naturally slightly darker than the rest of the table. Circa 1780
